Go Kart Control System
A Go Kart Control System was developed to improve safety of both the kart drivers and the track staff. The nature of a go karts ride allows the driver to be in control. Taking this control away would defeat the purpose and appeal of the experience. However when a driver fails to obey track staff or rules, or when an emergency on the track occurs, it is imperative that the track operator has some means of control.
A Go kart control system is not designed to steer, or apply the brakes, it remotely reduces the engine power and therefore the kart speed.
This will allow track operators to safely go out on the track to address problems. It also can reduce speed of the kart to a slow speed automatically when entering the pit area.
The system is made up of :-
Receiver
Is the unit that is mounted to each vehicle, so that it can control the engine speed to 3 different RPM ranges. These speeds can be tuned by the track operator to customize speed for the individual track. The receiver codes are unique to each kart, to enable individual karts to be isolated, the codes can be reprogrammed when necessary
Transmitter
Is the operators control panel that is used to send the signal to the receiver to activate the speed modes and other functions of the engines.Pit Controller
An optional device located near the entrance to the pit area. The Pit controller allows an automatic reduction and speed and engine power of each kart as it passes into a safe pitting area.
Programmer/tester
An optional device used to test the transponder units, to verify correct functioning, and is also used to program the kart receiver code.
